2022 Oscars: June Predictions

What better time to predict the Academy Awards than nine months before the date? Consider these my first predictions and an awards-oriented threshold for upcoming buzzy titles. This could either spectacularly hold up or hopelessly miss the mark. Which ever way the Oscars go, hopefully a modest slice of these films will not only appear on campaign bulletins but at the Dolby Theatre. Instead of indulging in specific details, see my earlier: “Possible 2022 Oscar Nominees, Ranked By *My* Interest,” this is a quick ranking based solely on possibility. Omitted categories include feature documentary, editing, international feature, score, song, sound, visual effects and the shorts, partly because the playing field is too wide or there are not enough visual indicators to make an educated guess. That still leaves thirteen categories. So, with a silo of salt, how do these (still vastly unseen) films fare?
